About this design
A round red paper lantern for Lunar New Year, with curved rib lines, gold caps top and bottom, a hanging cord and a flared red tassel. The traditional red and gold stand for luck and joy, making it a festive motif for Lunar New Year and Lantern Festival decorations, red-envelope pouches, table runners, cushion covers and children's festival outfits. With only three colours it sews quickly; on silky or satin fabrics use a cut-away backing and a light fill density so the large red area stays smooth.
