Gaming embroidery designs

Game controllers, joysticks, pixel hearts, arcade cabinets, dice and power-up stars: these gaming embroidery designs are for hoodies, caps, pencil cases and gifts for the gamer in your house. Free and premium files download in PES, DST, JEF and EXP, plus an all-formats ZIP. Every motif is original art without game brands or characters.

Hoodie fronts are thick, so hoop them with a cut-away and keep the hood and the pouch pocket out of the way.

These gaming embroidery designs borrow the look of pixel art: hearts and stars built from little squares, retro controllers with a cross-shaped pad and round buttons, and a joystick on an arcade panel. Every straight edge shows if the fabric moved, so hoop hoodies and tees with a cut-away and a ballpoint needle, and stitch a test on a scrap of similar knit first.

Gaming hoodies are often black. The dark outline thread disappears on black fabric, which can look sharp on pixel art; if you want the outline to show, sew that color stop in white or silver instead. Bright fills like lime, hot pink and sky blue stand out best.

Dice suit a drawstring bag for board game pieces. Friendly creatures to keep them company are in the cute monsters, and smileys are in the faces and emoji designs.

Frequently asked questions

Can I sell hoodies or caps made with gaming embroidery designs?

Hoodies and caps you sell need a plan with a commercial license. The designs are original Embroidly art and contain no game brands, logos or characters, so keep it that way and do not add brand names or character art of your own. See pricing for the commercial plans.

How do I add my gamer tag to an embroidery design?

Type the tag in the lettering maker, pick a bold block font so short tags stay readable, and stitch it under the controller in the same hooping. Keep it short: a long tag has to shrink to fit the width of a hoodie chest, and small letters lose detail on a thick knit.
