Thanksgiving embroidery designs

Thanksgiving embroidery designs for the table: a plump turkey, pumpkins, pies and fall leaves in warm colors like orange, caramel and brown. Each one is available as a free or premium download in PES, JEF, DST, EXP and VP3.

Table runners are long, so mark the center line before you hoop; repeated motifs will then sit straight from end to end.

Thanksgiving centers on a shared meal, so most Thanksgiving embroidery designs end up on the table: napkins, table runners, placemats, aprons and kitchen towels. A turkey on a toddler bodysuit also makes a sweet first-Thanksgiving outfit.

For place settings, stitch a small leaf or pumpkin in each napkin corner and add the guest's initial with the monogram maker, so the napkins also work as place cards. Cotton and linen take a tear-away stabilizer, and on a runner you rehoop for each motif, measuring the same distance every time.

The 70 mm size suits a napkin corner, while a runner end or a kitchen towel has room for the 125 mm turkey. For more seasonal motifs, browse fall designs and the baking designs with pies and bread.

Frequently asked questions

How do I embroider cloth napkins so the back looks neat?

Use a wash-away stabilizer, because the back of a napkin shows. It rinses out after stitching and leaves only the thread. Fill the bobbin with white or a color close to the napkin, place the motif diagonally about 1.5 inches (4 cm) from the corner edges, and press it face down on a towel.

When is Thanksgiving?

It depends on the country. Canada and the United States celebrate on different days, and the Canadian holiday comes several weeks earlier, so look up the date where you live. For gifts or orders, start stitching about a month ahead to leave time for washing and pressing.
