Vegetable embroidery designs

Vegetable embroidery designs with carrots, avocados, tomatoes and peas in the pod, drawn in house in fresh greens, oranges and reds. The files are free or premium and come as PES, DST, JEF, EXP, VP3 and U01.

On a canvas apron, a tear-away is enough for a small carrot, but a dense tomato or avocado is safer on a cut-away.

These vegetable embroidery designs keep garden produce cheerful: a carrot with a leafy top, a halved avocado with its round pit, a ripe tomato and a pea pod with the peas lined up inside. Leafy tops are satin lines over the green fill, and each pea is a small round fill with its own outline, so the pod reads clearly.

A 125 mm tomato fills the bib of an apron in a 5x7 hoop, and a 70 mm pea pod suits a seed pouch or a jam jar cover. Use them on harvest totes for the farmers market, kitchen towels, gardening aprons and kids' clothes.

A row of vegetables along the lower edge of a dish towel gives it a farm-stand look; stitch the middle one first and work outward, so the row stays centered. Gardeners can add watering cans and garden gloves from the gardening designs, and cooks can add apples and berries from the fruit designs.

Frequently asked questions

Do you have pumpkins and other fall harvest vegetables?

Pumpkins and other fall motifs are gathered in the fall designs, so look there for harvest table linens. The carrots, tomatoes and peas here work all year, and together with a pumpkin they make a full harvest set for napkins and a table runner.

Can I make a matching set of kitchen towels with vegetable designs?

Yes. Choose one vegetable per towel, stitch each one in the same spot and at the same distance from the hem, and keep the outline thread the same across the set. Test on a spare towel first, because the texture of the towel decides which stabilizer you need. Tied with twine, a set of three or four makes a good housewarming gift.
