Our mountain and landscape embroidery designs show the view the way you remember it from a trail: a row of peaks with white tips, rolling hills full of pines, a valley at sunset. Each landscape uses only a few thread colors, so it looks clean on heather gray fleece and earthy canvas alike. Tents and campfires are in the camping designs, framed explorer badges and compasses in the adventure designs, and mountain bikes in the cycling designs.
A landscape suits a cap because it is wide and low. Structured caps go on a cap frame with a tear-away cap backing; for soft, unstructured caps, hoop a sticky stabilizer and float the front panel on it.
The 95 mm version of a mountain range fits the front of a kids' cap or the chest of a youth hoodie. The 125 mm scene has more room for trees and snow, and it looks best centered on an adult hoodie, a backpack or a cushion for the cabin.

Can I turn a mountain design into a patch?
Yes, with a little extra work. Stitch the design on sturdy twill, cut around it with a small margin and sew it to a jacket or backpack. These landscapes have no built-in patch border, so if you want a finished satin edge, start from one of our embroidered patch designs instead.
What stabilizer should I use for a landscape on a hoodie?
A medium cut-away. Hoodies are knits, and a scene with sky, trees and snow has several fill layers that need lasting support through many washes. Use a ballpoint needle, hoop the stabilizer and fabric together without stretching, and add a water-soluble topping if the hoodie has a brushed or textured face.
