Cycling embroidery designs

Road bikes, mountain bikes and bicycle wheels: these cycling embroidery designs are for riders' caps, club hoodies and musette bags. Some are free, and every file is available for Brother (PES), Janome (JEF), Bernina (EXP) and Viking or Pfaff (VP3) machines, plus DST. Tip: on the left chest, turn the bike so it rides toward the center of the shirt rather than off its edge.

These cycling embroidery designs are about riding as a sport: drop-bar road bikes, mountain bikes with chunky tires and wheels as graphic motifs. City bikes, scooters and motorcycles are in the bicycle and motorcycle designs.

Most race jerseys are thin, printed polyester, and an embroidered patch of fill adds weight where you least want it. Club polos, hoodies, caps and bags are better canvases. A cotton musette bag is a stable woven, so a tear-away works for a small motif and a cut-away for a larger one.

The 70 mm wheel or bike fits the front of a cotton cycling cap or a pouch for keys and snacks, and the 125 mm road bike fills a musette bag or a tote. A bike club can stitch the same motif on every hoodie and add the club name with the lettering maker.

Frequently asked questions

Can I embroider a cotton cycling cap?

Yes. Cycling caps have a soft crown and a short brim, so hoop a sticky stabilizer and press the front panel onto it rather than clamping the cap. Keep the motif simple and low, check that the brim stays clear of the needle and the presser foot, and stitch at a slower speed.

Do you have mountain bike embroidery designs?

Yes. Mountain bikes with chunky tires and flat handlebars sit next to the road bikes in this section. For a trail theme, stitch one alongside a peak from our mountain and landscape designs, or on a hoodie for a riding club.
