Flower embroidery designs

Flower embroidery designs with sunflowers, daisies, tulips, poppies, cherry blossoms and lotus flowers, drawn in house in clear, bright colors with a dark satin outline. Single stems are often free and the bouquets premium, and every one comes as PES, DST, JEF, EXP, VP3 and more.

On a dress or a blouse, hoop the fabric flat without stretching it, so the petals do not pucker when the fabric relaxes.

These flower embroidery designs follow the garden from spring to late summer: tulips and cherry blossom branches, daisies and poppies, tall sunflowers with a seed center in warm browns, and floating lotus blossoms. Each bloom uses a few clear thread colors with a dark outline, so it still reads well on patterned table linens.

A 70 mm daisy fits the pocket of a child's dress, while a 125 mm sunflower in a 5x7 hoop covers the bib of an apron or the front of a tote bag. You can also use them on blouses, napkins, pillowcases and kitchen towels, and a cherry blossom branch fits nicely across a corner.

Pair the flowers with bees and butterflies from the bug and insect designs, or with the spring designs when you plan Easter and spring tables. Roses have their own group in the rose designs.

Frequently asked questions

How do I embroider flowers on a blouse without puckering?

Use a soft no-show mesh cut-away (a fusible one keeps thin fabric from shifting), a sharp 75/11 needle on woven blouses or a ballpoint needle on knits, and hoop the fabric flat without stretching it. Choose an open design with fewer fills for very light fabric, and test on a scrap first.

Can I stitch a row of flowers along a hem?

Yes. Mark a straight line along the hem with a water-soluble pen, stitch the first flower, then rehoop for each next one and line up the needle with your marks. Many machines let you move the needle to the exact start point before you begin. Keep the same distance between all flowers, and the row will look planned.
